Formulation and Characterization of Atenolol-loaded Gellan Gum Nanoparticles

Biopolymeric nanoparticles were synthesized using Gellan Gum and loaded with Atenolol, an antihypertensive drug by ionotropic gelation (an easy ecofriendly system) induced BaCl2 as ionic crosslinking agent to improve absorption bioavailability of drug. These characterized scanning electron microscope, fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis dynamic light scattering techniques. Mean particle size obtained was 85.61 nm diffraction, Zeta potential -19.4 mV fibrous morphology. In order optimize conditions for in vitro release various physicochemical parameters studied. Different kinetics model used analyze results indicated that the follows Korsemeyer-Peppa’s model.
